---- — Penny scores 17 in loss to No. 5 Kentucky

CHICAGO — DePaul women’s basketball had No. 5 Kentucky on its heels all night, but came up just short late in a 96-85 loss on Thursday at McGrath-Phillips Arena.

Senior forward Jasmine Penny of Logansport had 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and a block before fouling out for the Lady Blue Demons. She was 7 of 10 from the floor, 3 of 5 from the foul line and hauled in four offensive rebounds.

Kentucky improved to 10-0 and managed to prevail in its first-ever visit to Lincoln Park -- a place that has been historically unkind to visitors ranked inside the Top 25. DePaul dropped to 4-3 on the season with the loss and is now 7-3 against ranked opponents at home since the 2010-11 season.

The Blue Demons return to action at 1 p.m. EST Monday against visiting Dartmouth.
