It is once again time for the annual Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo. I always try to go to this event but I do not always get there. It is held this coming weekend at the State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis and it sounds like a fun event for outdoors enthusiasts.
I cannot think of a better way to spend a few hours this winter than walking around checking out the latest hunting and fishing equipment. I think it would be much better than sitting inside looking out at the snow covered lawn. I do hope that the thawing that we are supposed to have does in fact arrive and help melt away some of our large amounts of snow and ice. I think that I am safe to say that we are all ready for the snow to go away. Whether it does go away or not we will have to wait and see.
It sounds like the weather will cooperate with us for a chance to drive to Indy to see this outdoor event happening this weekend. It sounds like a nice way to spend a few hours looking at new gear that we could use in our outdoor adventures in the year to come. I know that I really need to upgrade some of my fishing equipment and I would like to see what they have in that department. It will make you think of better weather to come and finally getting back out fishing at our many lakes, streams, and ponds. The thought of not having to wade through a lot of snow is nice too.
It is also nearing turkey hunting season and as the name of the event says you can find gear there this weekend. I believe that they will also be holding seminars on various hunting and outdoor topics so take a look if you go to this event. I find it hard to believe that turkey season is just a few months away as I stare at the snow drifts outside but it is and now is the time to start preparing. I can always use some new gear that will help me in my quest to take a spring gobbler with archery equipment, or any equipment for that matter.
