Baseball sectional pairings set

The field for the 42nd-annual IHSAA Baseball State Tournament Series was set Thursday morning at the IHSAA Office in Indianapolis.
This year’s state tournament consists of 383 teams and begins with sectional play 10 days from now.
At Class 4A Sectional 7 at Lafayette Jefferson, Logansport drew a bye and will face McCutcheon at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 29.
Kokomo and Harrison will play on Memorial Day at 11 a.m. The host Jeff Bronchos play the winner of that game following the contest between Logansport and McCutcheon.
The championship game is set for Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m.
At Class 2A Sectional 34 at Culver Community, Winamac will face sixth-ranked Boone Grove on Memorial Day at 10:30 a.m. followed by Culver versus North Judson. Hebron and North Newton will face each other in the bye game.
At Class 2A Sectional 38 at Lewis Cass, the host Kings open their tournament against Southwood on Memorial Day at 11 a.m. followed by Manchester versus North Miami at 1:30 p.m.
The winners of those two games will face each other on Tuesday, May 27 at 5 p.m. followed by 10th-ranked Northfield versus Wabash at 7:30 p.m.
The championship game is set for Thursday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m.
At Class 2A Sectional 39 at Carroll, Delphi will face Clinton Central on Memorial Day at 5 p.m.
The host Cougars face Seeger on Wednesday, May 28 at 5 p.m. followed by Fountain Central versus the winner of Delphi/Clinton Central at 7 p.m.
The championship game is set for Thursday, May 29 at 5 p.m.
At Class A Sectional 50 at Tri-County, Pioneer will face the host Cavaliers on Memorial Day at 5 p.m. followed by West Central versus North White at 7 p.m.
The winners of those two games will face each other on Wednesday, May 28 at 5 p.m. Fifth-ranked Caston drew a bye and will face South Newton on Wednesday, May 28 at 7 p.m.
The championship game is set for Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m.
