Purdue, Sangralea Valley hosting soccer skills camp

The Purdue Women’s Soccer Team and Sangralea Valley Soccer Club are hosting a skills camp from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 23-26.

The camp is open to children ages 4-12. Cost is $15 per child, and the deadline for registration is April 5.

Inaugural half marathon at Geist Reservior set

Any runners or walkers locked out of the Mini Marathon, or those looking for another challenge will have an opportunity to take part in the first ever Geist Half Marathon and 5k on Saturday, May 17.

The race will showcase the Geist Reservoir area and will end near the Geist Marina.

The registration fee is $40 for the half marathon and $20 for the 5K. For more information visit www.GeistHalf.com.

Lady Berries golf team selling discount passes

The Logansport girls golf team will be selling the IGA-PGA 2008 Indiana Golf Pass as a fundraiser this spring.

The passes cost $25 each. The courses in the program agree to a 25 percent discount on greens fees for pass holders.

Anyone interested in purchasing a pass, can contact a member of the Logan girls golf team, or Stacy Lods at (574) 753-6951.

Logan Youth Soccer sign up sheets now available

The Logansport Youth Soccer League is currently holding registration.

Registration forms are available at the Logansport Public Library at the kids counter.

Send the forms to the address on the form with a nonrefundable fee of $20 per child. Registration ends Monday, March 24.

Dykman Park GC hosting charity golf event

There will be a golf fundraiser for Cindy Coe on April 27 at Dykeman Park Golf Course.

Coe was recently diagnosed with leukemia. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to help Coe and her husband Brian with expenses.

The golf outing will be a four-man scramble format. Tee times will begin at 10 a.m. The cost will be $100 per team (greens fee and cart not included).

Following golf there will be a sponsored dinner at The Elks Lodge.

If you would like to help but can’t attend you can still sponsor a hole for $50.

Sports correspondents needed

The Pharos-Tribune Sports Department is looking for some correspondents to cover high school athletic contests on Friday and Saturday nights this winter season.
