---- — PERU — Deputies say an intoxicated 65-year-old Peru man pointed a loaded semi-automatic handgun at another man, who then managed to take the gun and restrain the suspect.

Deputies said Robert W. Francis knocked on the door of a home on Dow Court near Grissom Air Reserve Base Monday evening and confronted the resident about juveniles in the area who he thought were on his property.

Deputies said Francis pulled a gun on the resident and pointed it at him. The resident managed to grab the handgun and restrain Francis until police arrived.

Francis was charged with criminal recklessness with a handgun, pointing a loaded firearm, carrying a handgun without a license and public intoxication. He was incarcerated at the Miami County jail on a $16,000 bond.

Miami County deputies, Bunker Hill police and state police all responded to the scene.
