LOGANSPORT — A father and two sons were arrested Saturday morning after police say they found a meth lab in their home.

After a tip from the Cass County Probation Department, officers responded to a home on the 2000 block of Usher Street, where they found an “active meth lab,” according to Cass County Sheriff Randy Pryor.

Dalton Eugene McGuire, 51, Logansport, and his son, Dustin Merl McGuire, 30, Logansport, were arrested on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of precursors and maintaining a common nuisance. Dalton also faces charge of possession of paraphernalia.

Another son, Dalton Ray McGuire, 28, Royal Center, was arrested on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, visiting a common nuisance and child neglect.

Joseph Allen Lott, 50, Logansport, was also at the residence and was arrested on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth and visiting a common nuisance.

The probation department contacted the police after they found that Dustin had reportedly failed several drug screens, Pryor said. Pryor said they also received information that he had purchased sudafedron that night.

“They discovered that there was a meth lab in the garage,” Pryor said.

Pryor said police entered the house after knocking on the door and discovered items used to manufacture meth. After obtaining a search warrant, police found “a glass pipe with black and white residue” that field-tested positive for meth, Pryor said.

They also found a Powerade bottle that was identified as a meth lab and three baggies containing meth, Pryor said.

The Cass County Drug Task Force and the Indiana State Police Clean-Up Team were also on scene.

A 4-year-old girl was discovered in the home and identified as 28-year-old Dalton McGuire’s daughter, leading to the child neglect charges.

Dalton Ray McGuire bonded out of the Cass County Jail Sunday night on a $25,000 surety and Lott bonded out Saturday on a $5,000 cash bond.

Dalton Eugene McGuire and Dustin McGuire remain in jail on $5,000 cash and $25,000 surety bonds.
