Galveston – A traffic collision involving a semi truck and a van early Saturday morning resulted in a rollover and injuries, the Cass County Sheriff’s Department reported.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, a van southbound on U.S. 35 south of 1100 South driven by Jacob Boswell, 20, Kokomo, crossed the center line and collided with a northbound Pasquale Trucking semi tractor driven by Thomas Wyrick, 58, Kokomo.
After the vehicles collided, the semi left the west side of the roadway and rolled onto its top, entrapping Wyrick, the release states.
Members of the Galveston and Walton fire departments worked for about an hour to free Wyrick, who was then airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
As of 4 p.m. Saturday, Wyrick’s condition was listed as critical.
Boswell was transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital by a family member for non-life-threatening injuries.
The release goes on to state driver fatigue was a contributing factor in the crash. The incident is still under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
