The superintendent of France Park resigned Tuesday morning, a Cass County official said.
Cass County Commissioner Dave Arnold said Lucas Beach resigned as superintendent of the park following issues over how the park was being run. Arnold cited complaints about the park made by several of the its campers at a commissioners meeting Monday. Campers expressed frustration over trash not being picked up, restrooms not being clean, showers without hot water and poor communication from park staff.
"This has been an ongoing thing, even going into last winter," Arnold said.
Beach could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday. He had been the park's superintendent since July 2012.
Arnold said security from the Cass County Government Building are overseeing the park until a permanent replacement for Beach is found, which he said hopes to happen by early next week.
