$27.5 million jackpot ticket sold in Kokomo
KOKOMO — Sunday may prove to be the mother of all Mother’s Days for a lucky Hoosier Lottery player. A jackpot-winning ticket in Saturday’s $27.5 million Hoosier Lotto drawing was purchased in Kokomo, according to a press release.
All Hoosier Lotto ticketholders are encouraged to check their tickets carefully. Somebody is holding a ticket that matches all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing and is worth $27.5 million. The winning ticket was purchased at Marsh Supermarket at 208 E. Southway Blvd.
The winning numbers for Saturday are: 9-16-34-37-45-46.
The holder of the winning ticket should sign the back of the ticket and contact Hoosier Lottery customer service at 800-955-6886 for instructions on how to claim the prize.
The Hoosier Lotto jackpot had been growing since October 2013 when Richard McMurry of Bloomington snagged a $3.5 million jackpot.
When the Kokomo ticketholder comes forward, he or she will join a list of winners in Bedford, Bloomington, Columbus, Daleville, Elkhart, Frankfort, Glenwood, Guston, Highland, Huntertown, Indianapolis, Jasper, Moores Hill, Muncie, New Albany, Newport and Summitville in claiming Hoosier Lotto jackpots in the last five years.
Since the game started in 1994, more than 100 players have claimed Hoosier Lotto jackpots.
In November 2007, retired East Chicago steelworker Peter Gilbert claimed the game’s biggest jackpot ever — a $54 million prize.
Hoosier Lotto drawings are Wednesdays and Saturday nights. Tickets cost $1 per play and are available at more than 4,000 Hoosier Lottery retailers. Wednesday’s jackpot is $1 million.
