SOUTHPORT, England (AP) — Bernhard Langer and Mark Wiebe were tied after two playoff holes Sunday night in the storm-delayed Senior British Open when darkness suspended play at Royal Birkdale.

They will finish the playoff this morning.

Wiebe shot a 4-under 66 to match Langer at 9-under 271. Langer had a 70. They each parred the par-4 18th twice in the playoff.

Langer, the 2010 winner at Carnoustie, blew a two-stroke lead with a double bogey on the final hole of regulation after hitting into a greenside bunker. Minutes earlier, Wiebe’s birdie putt at No. 18 came up short.

Corey Pavin, Peter Senior and David Frost tied for third at 6 under. Pavin shot a 65, Senior had a 66, and Frost a 70.

Beachy set to make return against Rockies

ATLANTA (AP) — Braves right-hander Brandon Beachy will make his first start in more than a year on Monday night against Colorado as he completes his comeback from elbow surgery.

The Braves confirmed Sunday that Beachy, a Northwestern High School product, will come off the disabled list for his first start since right elbow ligament-replacement surgery in June 2012.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez says Beachy will be limited to about 100 pitches. Gonzalez says Beachy’s return to the rotation “is like getting a big piece in a trade at deadline.”

Beachy moves into Tim Hudson’s rotation spot. Hudson’s season ended when he broke his right ankle on Wednesday night.

Beachy was 5-5, led the NL with a 2.00 ERA, and appeared bound for an All-Star appearance when his 2012 season ended after 13 starts.

“I feel good now and I’ve felt good ever since that point I was shut down,” Beachy said. “I’m going to go out there and take the ball and keep it until they take it away from me.”
