INDIANAPOLIS — During the summer and fall, State Sen. Randy Head (R-Logansport) will serve as vice-chair of the Interim Study Committee on Government and the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.
The committees are slated to discuss issues surrounding annexation and better relations between all levels of government.
“Study committees give legislators a chance to meet and collaborate with experts concerning Indiana’s most pressing issues,” Head said in a press release. “Much of what we discuss will serve as the foundation for future legislation.”
Head was also appointed to the following summer study committees and councils:
• Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development
• Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary
• Military Base Planning Council
When Indiana’s part-time legislature is not in session, lawmakers are assigned to interim study committees that meet to review the state’s top issues, as identified by the General Assembly during the prior legislative session.
