The July 4th Firework Season is nearing, and there have been several reports of residents starting a little early with their celebration, according to a release from the Logansport Police Department.
According to City Ordinance 2007-38, Consumer Fireworks may not be used, ignited or discharged within the corporate limits of the City of Logansport except during the following times:
Between the hours of 5 p.m. and two hours after sunset on June 29, June 30, July 1-3, July 5-9; between the hours of 10 a.m. and midnight on July 4; and between the hours of 10 a.m. Dec. 31 and 1 a.m. Jan. 1.
The use, ignition, or discharge of consumer fireworks other than during the above time periods shall constitute an infraction and may be subject to a fine of $100, the police department advises.
