UPDATE: Teen charged with murder in stabbing in Peru

Two others injured, one arrested for underage drinking.

PERU — A Peru man has been charged with murder after a Sunday morning stabbing left a 19-year-old dead.

Rannin A. Shuler, 18, Peru has been charged with murder, battery with a deadly weapon resulting in bodily injury, obstruction of justice and perjury.

Officers responded to 57 E. 6th Street, Peru, at 2:24 a.m. Sunday on a report of people being stabbed, said Peru Police Chief Jonie Kennedy.

Three people were transported from the residence to Dukes Memorial Hospital with stab wounds.

Brayton Kelsor, 19, died at the hospital from his injuries.

Dominick J. Tyler, 19, Bunker Hill, was treated for his injuries and arrested at the hospital for minor in consumption of alcohol and reportedly had a blood alcohol level of .09 percent.

During the investigation, probable cause for charges against the third person, Shuler, developed and the charges were approved by the Miami County Circuit Court, police said in a press release.

The Indiana State Police, Miami County Prosecutor’s Office, Miami County Coroner, Miami County EMS and Miami County EMA assisted at the scene.
