A fire badly damaged a house on High Street in Logansport early Friday.
The Logansport Fire Department responded to the fire at 1901 High St. at about 12:30 a.m. Friday.
Rick Bair, assistant chief at the Logansport Fire Department, said he arrived with other firefighters on the scene to find heavy flames coming out of a southeast corner window.
"Then we could tell that the back kitchen and laundry room was fully engulfed," Bair said.
Three occupants were inside the house at the time of the fire, Bair said, all of whom escaped safely before firefighters arrived.
Bair added firefighters were on scene for about three hours. The fire resulted in heavy fire damage to the first floor and smoke damage throughout the residence.
The cause of the fire is continuing to be investigated.
The Logansport Police Department, Rural/Metro ambulance service, Logansport Municipal Utilities and the Northern Indiana Public Service Company also responded to the scene.
