---- — The sound of a footstep, a touch, a tug of the hair and a flickering flashlight are all things that could be found at an upcoming paranormal investigation at Adams Mill.
On Saturday, the Kokomo Chapter of Indiana Ghost Trackers will host an investigation at the 1845 grist mill in Cutler. The event is open to anyone who wants to attend.
The event will take place inside the grist mill, which has multiple floors.
Although a sighting or paranormal experience isn’t guaranteed, it’s possible, said Al Taylor, director of the Kokomo chapter. Other possibilities, he said, are catching a glimpse of an unexplained shadow or possibly hearing an unknown voice.
“A visitor might see flashlights go off and on by themselves,” Taylor said. “Sometimes we go places and nothing happens. You never know what you’re going to get.”
The investigation will start at 10 p.m. and go to midnight or later, if there is a lot of activity, Taylor said. The cost to participate is $10, with all money raised benefiting the mill.
Taylor said it’s important to the ghost tracker group to help preserve landmarks.
“We like to make sure landmarks are protected because a lot of them get torn down and thrown away,” Taylor said. “[Adams Mill] a nice place to visit and we want to make sure it’s preserved.”
Taylor suggests those who attend to dress for the weather and bring cameras or recorders, if interested. Although there will be extra flashlights, it would be a good idea to bring a flashlight along, Taylor said.
Those interested in participating can come early and register, or call Taylor at 765-438-6669 or email email@example.com. In order to participate, you must be 16 or older.
During the Adams Mill visit, a local Kokomo production company will also be going along to film the investigation.
The Kokomo Chapter of Indiana Ghost Trackers has about one to two investigations a month. The members also investigate houses and businesses for activity free of charge.
Also at Adams Mill, prior to the ghost hunt, is Haunted Adams Mill from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Halloween night. There will be guided tours through the three floors of the mill. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages four to 12. Children four and under are free.
