Red Cross schedules blood drives

---- — The American Red Cross encourages blood donors to invite a loved one to follow in their footsteps and donate blood this holiday season. Visit to upload a picture of a Red Cross blood donation and send a postcard to a loved one.

Upcoming blood donation opportunities include:

• 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Dec. 12 at Polymer Science, Inc., located at 2787 S. Freeman Road in Monticello

• 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Dec. 6 and Dec. 9 at Logansport Juvenile Correction in the Administration Lobby, located at 1118 S. Ind. 25 in Logansport

• 2:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Twelve Mile Community Building in the main room, located at 8030 E. Ind. 16 in Twelve Mile

• Noon until 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at Logansport Mall in the Community Room, located at 3900 E. Market St. in Logansport

All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in Indiana and Ohio), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
