---- — Some movers and shakers in Cass County have formed a group to provide business learning opportunities.

Helping You Pursue Excellence (HYPE) Together was formed by a Cass County Resource Network employment task force. It will be offered through a collaboration with the task force and The Cass-Logansport Chamber of Commerce.

The Cass County Resource Network (CCRN) divides its members into five task forces, with each tackling specific needs in the community.

Within the employment task force, members look at employment trends; education needs to create a more employable and educated workforce and ways to prepare for successful employment by making persons aware of skills needed to find employment.

Becky Anspach, chair of the employment task force, said the overall goal is to promote a better quality of life.

“We know we need to raise awareness on employment trends and issues because they affect everyone,” Anspach said.

After deciding there was a need for some learning opportunities, HYPE Together was formed. The bimonthly learning opportunities will be hosted by Cass-Logansport Chamber of Commerce and the CCRN employment task force.

It’s an idea to help educate others, Megan Paschen, a member of the task force, said.

”Education is key to make sure everyone is aware of the skills they need,” Paschen said.

Each workshop will feature a different topic. The first workshop with Rick Hollering of RLH Associates will focus on connecting with others and the second workshop with Jaime Smith from Hoosier Social Media will cover Social Media. They are open to anyone wanting to learn or refresh their skills.

Future topics will include taxes and tips on how to market your business.

The creation of HYPE Together is a good example of what community partnerships can accomplish in the community, Anspach said.

Paschen agreed.

”We all work in Cass County, so learning to work together efficiently is key,” Paschen said. “I’m hoping this will allow people to increase their knowledge right here in Cass County.”
