“[Christmas] being in the middle of the week is difficult,” Anspach said. “People will either shop the weekend before or the weekend after.”
Tom Partridge, owner of Pear Tree Gallery, said the busiest time for the store is before the holidays, though some Christmas ornaments and items will be on sale at the store, 331 E. Market St., Logansport.
However, the big sale at Judy’s Goodlife Emporium, where everything except food and previously marked down items were buy one, get one, was on Christmas Eve.
Some stores are busy both before and after the holiday.
The day before Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve are the busiest days for Fernbaugh’s Jewelry. Derek McGuire, store owner, said with being there long enough, they see the same people each year.
“Some people just like waiting until the last minute,” McGuire said.
Although the store is usually busy before the holiday, it can be just as busy after the holiday, McGuire said.
