Citizen complaint led to multiple arrests

Six arrested on drug charges

A citizen complaint led to an investigation and six arrests on drug charges Wednesday.

The Logansport/Cass County Drug Task Force and the Logansport Police Department Community Resource Team investigated a complaint regarding drug activity, according to a Logansport Police Department press release.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Cass Soloman, 25, North Judson, and Ryan Robinson, 24, Logansport, on possession of a synthetic drug or synthetic drug look-alike substance. Robinson was also charged with reckless possession of drug paraphernalia.

A search warrant was obtained for a residence located in the 400 block Bartlett Street. The Logansport Police Department SWAT Team and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Response Team executed the search warrant at this residence. Several items of drug paraphernalia, a quantity of probable heroin, and a quantity of synthetic drugs/synthetic drug look-alike substances were also located, the press release said.

Three additional suspects were arrested and taken to the Cass County Jail. Vanessa Bowen, 38, Logansport, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin, possession of a syringe, maintaining a common nuisance and reckless possession of drug paraphernalia. Louis Davis, 21, Logansport, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and visiting a common nuisance; and Karen Stutts, 25, Logansport, was arrested on charges of dealing of a synthetic drug or synthetic drug look-alike substance, possession of a synthetic drug or synthetic drug look-alike substance, reckless possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

In addition to these arrests, another arrest was made in an unrelated traffic stop by members of the Logansport team, a press release said.

George Santillan, 23, Logansport, was arrested on charges of dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana over 30 grams. During the traffic stop at Tanguy Street and Clay Street, a LPD K-9 Unit alerted the presence of the odor of narcotics from the vehicle. Officer located 6 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $6,000, according to police.
