It isn't unusual for a group of northern Indiana women to rent a limousine to celebrate their friend's birthday.
But the stretch that cruised through Logansport Saturday afternoon wasn't any ordinary limo.
Decked in black spots resembling those of a cow, the white vehicle was topped with an enormous duck, pig and cow, followed by a giant cow pie resting on the trunk door in front of the white picket fence that spanned across the rear bumper.
Inside drove Jeffrey Macke, "The Chip Inspector," as his business card states, interrupting the music that played over the exterior speakers to let out a "moo" from his microphone headset.
After parking at Mr. Happy Burger on Logansport's east side, out exited eight women, including Akron resident Sarah Solano, who turned 50 Sunday.
"I wanted absolutely nothing for my 50th birthday," Solano said in a playfully bitter tone, causing her friends to laugh.
Lisa Harris, also of Akron, organized the daylong party that would span across several counties in the area. She said she saw the limo in Rochester not too long ago and decided to keep it in mind for what became Saturday's festivities.
Harris said being a lifelong friend of Solano's allowed her to be "the only person who could get away with" organizing such a surprise.
After picking up the all of the partygoers, the limo headed toward the World's Largest Egg in Mentone before heading to both Mr. Happy Burger locations in Logansport to see the large animals that stand outside both restaurants. Later on they would go to a coffee house in Wabash, all the while enjoying the snacks they brought inside the limousine.
People exited the restaurant to take pictures while cars slowed down in the parking lot to do the same. The ladies said they were getting a kick out of all of the attention the car had been receiving throughout the day.
