PERU — Peru police have arrested a 22-year-old Peru man who they say robbed a Radio Shack at gunpoint in January.
Police arrested Aaron D. Cooley Wednesday after they say he entered the store at 9 E. Broadway Plaza, Peru, and demanded money from an employee at gunpoint. Police said he then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police received a tip on Tuesday that Cooley was the culprit in the incident. After receiving a search warrant for his residence on Turnpaugh Trail, police said they found evidence linking him to the robbery.
Cooley faces felony charges of robbery, theft and serious violent offender in possession of a firearm. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of pointing a firearm and an unrelated warrant for parole violation.
Cooley is being held at the Miami County jail on a $68,000 bond.
The Miami County Prosecutor’s Office assisted police in the investigation.
