KOKOMO — On Aug. 24, the St.Joseph Foundation will hold its fourth annual Runnin’ the Shores 5K Run/Walk to raise funds for St. Joseph Hospital.
The 5K (3.1 miles) event is a fun, family-friendly morning that offers an opportunity to enjoy an exhilarating run or walk along the scenic trails of Champagne Shores while also raising funds to improve the health of our community. Again this year, the morning will include a one mile Fun Run for kids age 12 and under.
Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7 a.m., with the Kids Fun Run starting at 7:45 a.m. and the Run and Walk beginning at 8:10 a.m. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female runners in each of 14 age divisions and to the top male and female walker in each of seven age divisions.
New this year, the event will feature chip timing to make it faster and easier for participants to get their results.
Funds raised by the Runnin’ the Shores event will help to support healthcare services provided at St. Joseph Hospital, a mission-driven hospital which provides exceptional healthcare to all in need, regardless of ability to pay.
There are a number of opportunities still available to help ensure the success of the event. Runners and walkers can sign up for the event through the day of the event.
The entry fee is $20 per person before Monday. After Monday and at the event the fee is $25 per person. Those who wish to provide additional financial support can become a trail sponsor or provide a tax deductible donation.
