Halloween festivities around the area

Local and area activities for Halloween this year include the following locations and hours:

• Trick or treating hours in Logansport will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Anyone who is willing to accept trick-or-treaters should leave a porch or outside light burning. Trick-or-treaters should only go to homes with a porch or outside light on and always go in groups and be accompanied by an adult. Logansport Police Department will have extra patrols on duty during the trick-or-treat hours.

• The staff and residents of Camelot Care Center will be welcoming trick-or-treaters during regular trick-or-treating hours on Friday and Saturday. The center is located at 1555 Commerce St. in Logansport. Individuals are asked to use the emergency entrance located west of the parking lot as they are first turning into the Camelot property. 

• The Haunted Woods Trail guided tours will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. rain or moonshine Friday and Saturday at the Fulton County Museum grounds, four miles north of Rochester. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 11, and free for children ages 5 and under. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Do not drop them off. Sandwiches, cookies and drinks will be available in the museum.

• The Haunted Trail through Lee’s Woods in Carroll County starts at 5 p.m. and closes at 3 a.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday. The scary event, located seven miles south of Logansport on 450N east of Ind. 29 in Deer Creek, features ghoul gladiator fights, slime wrestling, face painting, a disc jockey and Fear Factor games that involve eating hissing cockroaches. The cost is $8 at the gate, but group rates are available and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Emmaus Mission Center. • The town of Galveston will hold trick-or-treat hours from 6 to 8 p.m. A parade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. starting from First Farmer’s Bank and Trust continuing on to the school.

• Hours for Walton are 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

• Hours in Royal Center are from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

• Hours for Carroll County are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

• Hours for Fulton County are 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Rochester; 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fulton; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Kewanna; and 6 to 8 p.m. Akron, all on Saturday.

• Hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday for Winamac, Monterey, Medaryville and Francesville.
