ROCHESTER — The man who escaped Fulton County authorities on Monday has been caught.
Police from several agencies captured Trevor Williams the day after his escape from the special operations unit in charge of getting him back to the Fulton County Jail.
On Monday, Williams had agreed to work with the special operations unit on a criminal investigation in the Akron area. Police say Williams fled on foot while assisting the officers. A multi-agency manhunt was conducted throughout the evening and night, but Williams eluded capture.
On Tuesday, police received information that Williams was hiding in a barn at 3234S 650E. Officers found Williams in tall weeds outside the barn. He surrendered without incident.
Police have added charges of escape and theft to the charges of burglary and arson Williams was facing in an unrelated case.
The capture of Williams was a joint effort by Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Rochester Police Department, Akron Police Department, the special operations unit and two K-9 units.
