Homeowners fined for trash

Three Logansport property owners will be fined by the city’s code enforcement officer for trash violations.

Jose Domingo, the owner of 1416 E. Broadway; Michael and Doris Wolf, owners of 709 Race St.; and James and Jodie Schaff, owners of 712 Race St., must pay $250 per hour for the cleanup by the Logansport Street Department along with a $50 administration fee and a $50 fine.

The fines were recommended by Code Enforcement Officer Diana Hileman and approved Wednesday by the Board of Public Works and Safety.

Along with the fines, Building Commissioner Gary Hostetler issued notices to Albert W. Downhour, owner of 1515 E. Market St., and Armando Cervantes, owner of 210 Seventh St. The notices were for unsafe structures, and the property owners will be ordered to appear at an upcoming board meeting.
