Ivy Tech roads not yet open

The city of Logansport is reminding area residents that roads leading to the new Ivy Tech Community College Logansport campus are not yet open for public use.

The city issued a statement saying that people having no business to conduct on the Ivy Tech job site will be considered trespassers. City officials say this is a liability issue and anyone caught within the confines of the construction site on weekends or after regular working hours will be prosecuted.

Firefighters plan demonstration

The Logansport Fire Department is inviting the public to attend a vehicle extrication demonstration at 5:30 p.m. July 17 near the main entrance of the Cass County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Assistant Chief Dave Huff is organizing the event and several other fire fighters will be on scene to simulate life-saving techniques on volunteers inside two vehicles.

Good Samaritan will also have a helicopter on stand-by at the scene.
