Police still searching for Galveston bank robber

by Melissa Soria
Pharos-Tribune staff writer

GALVESTON — Police are still searching for the man who robbed Salin Bank and Trust in Galveston on Monday.

Detective Sgt. Tom Wallace of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department said investigators have interviewed more than 20 people in and around Galveston since Monday.

“We’ve really narrowed the list down,” he said. “There’s a couple of names were focusing on right now.”

Wallace said police on Thursday were conducting interviews in Kokomo.

A white male in his early 20s entered the bank about 9:45 a.m. Monday wearing a cloth mask. He approached a teller with a concealed weapon and demanded money.

The man fled the building with an undisclosed amount of money. None of the five employees working at the time were injured. The bank reopened for business on Tuesday.

Witnesses described the man as having a thin build and dirty blond hair. He stood between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-2, and he was wearing a white baseball cap, a long-sleeved, light-colored shirt with a darker short-sleev shirt over it, along with blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
