Storm causes minor damage

Trees reported down after winds blow through

From Staff Reports

Winds reaching between 60 and 75 mph and heavy rain passed through Cass County on Sunday night, leaving property damaged and tree limbs broken.

At 6:40 p.m., officials set off tornado sirens throughout the county, said Cass County EMA director Alvin Beckman.

Trees were down on Logansport and Perrysburg roads and on U.S. 24 west of Logansport, while winds shattered windows in homes and cars, Beckman said.

Funnel clouds were reported in Fulton County, Deedsville, Miami County and North Judson. None were reported in Cass County, said Beckman.

Several strong cloud rotations were reported near Ind. 17 north of Logansport, at Fifth Street and Erie Avenue, and above Bob Evans restaurant on the city’s east side.

Beckman said the worst of the storm appeared to be on the north side of Logansport to Ind. 16 and from Royal Center to Ind. 25.
