City trash pickup will be one day behind

In observance of Memorial Day, Wabash Valley Refuse has announced that trash pickup in the city of Logansport will run one day behind for this week.

Today’s trash will be picked up Tuesday, Tuesday’s trash will be picked up Wednesday, Wedneday’s trash will be picked up Thursday, Thursday’s trash will be picked up Friday and Friday’s trash will be picked up Saturday.

Mighty Cancer Fighters to host bike rally May 31

Bunker Hill — The Miami Correctional Facility Mighty Cancer Fighters Relay For Life team has scheduled a bike rally in its parking lot on May 31.

All proceeds from the rally will go to the American Cancer Society. Check-in for the ride will begin at 8 a.m. in the parking lot. There will be a couple of competitions before the ride — the Baddest Bike Competition and the Loudest Bike/Pipe Competition.

A $10 donation per bike or a $15 donation a couple is asked for the Memorial Ride. The ride is to honor a couple former employees who died of cancer in February. The 100-mile leisurely ride has several scheduled stops where prizes will be given away. The rally is sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Kokomo, Brandt’s Harley Davidson, Hann’s General Store Bike Shop and Max Pitts of Peru.

Cheerleaders selling mulch

FULTON — The Caston cheerleaders are selling bulk landscaping mulch.  

The price is $27 per yard.  

Pickups can be loaded evenings or weekends at the first house south of the Caston School on Ind. 25.

Salvation Army lists camp dates

The Salvation Army of Cass and White counties announces summer camp dates.

Registration for Cass and White county residents only will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army, 418 S. Fourth St.

The cost of $5 (for gas) per camper is required at the time of registration.

Kids Camp for kids who have finished grades 1-3 will be June 16-20, Junior Camp for kids who have completed grades 4-6 will be June 23-27, Junior High Camp for kids who have completed grades 6-8 will be July 7-11, and Teen Camp for kids who have completed grades 9-12 will be July 21-25.
