WALTON — The Walton American Legion will hold cemetery services in honor of Memorial Day at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Walton IOOF Cemetery. Larry Lowry, the Cass County Veterans Services officer, will be the guest speaker.
Two injured during Logan Road collision
Two people were injured Friday afternoon in a crash east of Logansport.
At about 2 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in the 4900 block of Logansport Road.
Upon arrival, police determined that a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Lori Richardson of Logansport had been eastbound on Logansport Road. As she slowed down to make a left turn into a pull-off area on the north side of the road, her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 82-year-old Miles Hunter of East Peoria, Ill.
Both Richardson and Hunter sustained injuries and were transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital. Richardson suffered a laceration to the back of her head, along with neck, back and head pain. Hunter complained of chest pain.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision, say police.
Logansport and New Waverly fire departments assisted at the scene.
