Car show slated at Riverside Park
The third annual Carousel Car Show is planned June 7 at Riverside Park.
Music and food will be available.
The event will include the Top 10 cars in 1979 and earlier, and Top 10 in 1980 and later.
Start time is at 9 a.m., and dash plaques will be given to the first 25 entries.
There is a $10 pre-registration fee or $12 the day of the show.

McHale hosting LHS band concert Monday
The annual Logansport High School Band Hour of Music concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday in McHale Performing Arts Center at Logansport High School.
Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students (K-12). Music will be performed by the Logansport High School percussion ensemble, jazz band, color guard and concert band.
Music boosters will be in the lobby before and after the concert promoting their ongoing trash bag sales, new Felix window clings and face tattoos.
The community is invited to attend.
Area board serving community breakfast
TWELVE MILE — The Twelve Mile Community Board is sponsoring a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. May 17 in the Community Building.
The menu includes biscuits and gravy, pancakes, ham, eggs and sweet rolls.
Donations will be accepted and proceeds will go toward the upkeep and maintenance of the Twelve Mile Community Building. The building is used by many groups and community members for meetings, special events and family gatherings.
Carroll County bridge approved for $400,000
DELPHI — The Indiana Department of Transportation recently awarded Carroll County $400,000 in bridge funding.
These federal funds, which are administered by INDOT, may be used as reimbursement for the construction phase of the 1100N bridge over Lake Freeman Canal. These funds may not exceed 80 percent of the costs.
Carroll County was one of seven entities competing for $4.8 million in bridge funding appropriated this year to the INDOT LaPorte District. After district officials reviewed the applications and made their recommendations, a selection committee in Indianapolis confirmed the award on April 29.
Work day planned at Canal Park sites
DELPHI — Friends of the Wabash and Erie Canal have scheduled a work day at 9 a.m. on May 17. Two crews are needed to plant flowers at Canal Park 1030 N. Washington St. in Delphi, and also to clear brush at the north side of the Carrollton Bridge, five miles north of Delphi.

Deadline extended for tax deductions
The Cass County Auditor’s office reminds taxpayers that the filing deadline for various property tax deductions has been permanently extended to June 10. This extension applies to 2008 pay 2009 property taxes.
The extension applies to the following deductions: Mortgage, rehabilitation, standard/homestead, coal conversion, veteran’s total and partial disability, geothermal, surviving spouse of veteran, wind power, WWI veterans, hydroelectric, over 65, fertilizer/pesticide and blind or disabled.
There are specifics for each deduction. Taxpayers with questions about deductions should call the Auditor’s office at (574) 753-7720. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
