Jazz performance canceled for tonight

The Jazz quintet, Charresa Lawson and Friends, scheduled to perform at Boondockers tonight has been canceled.

Author to visit Monticello library

MONTICELLO — Local history writer W.C. Madden has published more than a dozen books. He will be visiting from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the program room at the Monticello Union Township Public Library.

His new book focuses on the old Monticello cemetery. Mr. Madden will present his new book, and a discussion and book signing will follow. The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Monticello Union Township Public Library.

Peak Community schedules meeting

Several proposed changes in rules and fees have been proposed by state officials that have the potential to negatively impact persons with developmental disabilities.

Peak Community Services will be holding informational meetings for family members, staff, volunteers, advocates and interested community members to discuss these proposed changes.

Meetings will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1416 Woodlawn Ave. in Logansport. For more information, call (574) 753-4104 Ext. 128.

Fulton County gets $625,600 for bridge

ROCHESTER — The Indiana Department of Transportation recently awarded Fulton County $625,600 in Local Public Agency bridge funding.

These federal funds, which are administered by INDOT, may be used as reimbursement for the construction phase of the 250S bridge over Rain Creek. These funds may not exceed 80 percent of the costs.

Fulton County was one of seven municipalities competing for $4.8 million in LPA bridge funding appropriated this year to the INDOT LaPorte District. After District officials reviewed the applications and made their recommendations, a selection committee in Indianapolis confirmed the award on April 29.

INDOT OKs funding for county bridge

MONTICELLO — The Indiana Department of Transportation recently awarded White County $1,125,000 in bridge funding.

The West Shafer Drive bridge over Hoagland Bay received $355,000 and the West Shafer Drive bridge over Big Monon Bay received $770,000.
