State police issue 1,419 citations

Lafayette — Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post recently released statistics for March.

Troopers issued 1,419 traffic citations and wrote 1,272 traffic warnings. Troopers also arrested 29 alleged drunk drivers and made 160 criminal arrests.

With spring weather approaching, farmers will be out on the roads moving machinery from field to field. Farm machinery only travels at 15 to 25 miles per hour. State police want motorists to be sure to give themselves plenty of room to slow down or even stop for machinery turning into fields. Also, motorists need to give them extra room to maneuver around corners and into driveways.
