A collision that occurred in rural Cass County on Thursday afternoon resulted in multiple injuries and a citation.
At 3:20 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash at 800E and 500S, less than two miles west of Onward.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, a northbound 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by 18-year-old Dezra L. Bennett of Walton told police she did not see the 2005 GMC Sierra truck driven by 49-year-old Toni A. Downhour of Walton. Upon entering the four-way intersection, both vehicles collided.
The impact caused multiple injuries and more than $10,000 in property damage.
Bennett and her passenger, 18-year-old Darcy A. Wescott of Logansport, were transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital via ambulance. Bennett complained of pain to her entire body. Wescott sustained a non-incapacitating head injury.
Downhour’s husband took her to the hospital. She also complained of pain to her entire body, according to a police report.
Bennett was cited for failure to yield.
The Walton Fire Department and Cass County medics assisted at the scene.
