Volunteers needed for river cleanup
The Izaak Walton League is looking for people to clean up the banks of the Wabash and Eel rivers from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
A pizza party, provided by Izaak Walton, will follow at Little Turtle Waterway Plaza. Participants will also get the chance to cruise the river on an airboat.
Those who are able to help are asked to contact Cass County Conservation Officer Brenda Louthain at (574) 664-9952 to be assigned an area. Favorite spots along the river can be requested.
Trash bags will be provided. LMU has donated a dump truck to haul the trash to Oakridge landfill.
