Singer slated at Neal Home

The Neal Home, 2518 George St., will host J. Jay Brook, international vocal entertainer, from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 7.

Brook will be performing live with his blend of musical entertainment. The community is invited to see this performance.

Community center plans soup supper

ROCKFIELD — A chili and vegetable soup supper is planned from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 28 at the Rockfield Community Center.

Also available will be coney dogs, ham sandwiches, pie, cake and soft drinks. Donations will be accepted.

The event is sponsored by the Rockfield Community Club, and all proceeds will go to town improvements.

Cass Y to offer Biddy Boot Camp

The Cass County Family Y is offering a Biddy Boot Camp to all children ages 3 to 5. 

This program is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning March 31 and meets every Tuesday.

This program is designed to introduce children to fun and different forms of activity. Each week a different physical challenge will be offered for the participants.

Center presents program on Lewis

KEWANNA — On April 25, Mahseh Center at Lake Bruce will be hosting an opportunity to spend time with Dr. Edwin Brown and learn more about C.S. Lewis, author of “The Chronicles of Narnia” and “Mere Christianity.”

Ed is a Harvard-educated physician who has traveled the world for business and ministry purposes and has been involved in numerous projects that have brought him in contact with a fascinating array of political, business and Christian leaders.

Ed will host a two-part seminar focusing primarily on Lewis. The 90 minute-sessions will start at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. April 25 at Mahseh and will be open to 50 people.

Mahseh Center is at 1516 N. Lake Shore Drive, Kewanna, on the east side of Lake Bruce. The cost is $35 per person and $50 per couple with lunch included.

Genealogy workshop set in Fulton County

ROCHESTER — A free genealogy workshop for night owls will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday in the Fulton County Museum. It is for adults, 4-H, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and all interested persons.

April Gross, assistant system administrator at the Rochester Library, will speak about the genealogy resources in the library and will tell of her own research and what she has learned. April also will discuss her plans to take photos of all the tombstones in Fulton County to compliment Wendell Tombaugh’s survey, which he published in books and on www.fulco.lib.in.us.

Attendees are urged to bring their own genealogy problems.

Help will be available for research in the museum’s Tetzlaff Reference Room and on the computer.

Tenderloin dinner slated for April

WALTON — The Walton Lions Club will host a handbreaded tenderloin dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. April 11 at the Lions Den.

The meal will consist of a handbreaded tenderloin, french fries, cole slaw and drink. 

Tickets in advance are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Tickets at the door will be $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased at the Walton Public Library or from any Lions Club member.

Walton Lions offer doughnuts

WALTON — The Walton Lions Club will host their monthly doughnut fry from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 11 at the Lions Den on Depot Street in Walton.

The Lions make their own yellow and chocolate cake doughnuts, and the cost is $4 a dozen.

All proceeds from the doughnuts are used to provide scholarships and assist needy students with eyewear.
