Mayor’s prayer breakfast scheduled

Mayor Mike Fincher will be holding his monthly Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday.

The gathering begins at 6:45 a.m. at the Senior Center, 115 S. Sixth St. The public is welcome to join.

Walton legion serving dinner

WALTON — The Walton American Legion will host a chicken and noodle dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at the Legion Hall.

The dinner will include chicken and noodles, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, gravy, beets, stewed tomatoes, cole slaw, bread and butter and pie.

The public is invited. Cost of meal depends on items selected.

Hunter education class offered in April

An Indiana hunter education class will be held at the Izaak Walton League, 1046 N. State Road 17.

The two-day course will begin at 8 a.m. on April 4 and run until 5 p.m. Lunch will be provided by the Izaak Walton League on Saturday.

The class will begin at noon on April 5 and include “range day.” Students will receive one-on-one instruction with shotguns, rifles, muzzleloaders and archery. Students must attend both days.

Upon successful completion of this nationally recognized class, students will be certified, allowing them to buy an Indiana hunting license as well as licenses in all other states. Pre-registration is required and can be done by calling Conservation Officer Brenda Louthain at (574) 664-9952.

The class is limited to 50 students on a first-call, first-served basis.

4-H meeting slated at area elementary

BURNETTSVILLE — The Cass Township 4-H Club will be meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Eastlawn Elementary.

The meeting is for any child in third grade or older wishing to join 4-H.

Last weekend slated for Civic auditions

Civic Players has announced auditions for the upcoming production “Finian’s Rainbow.”

Auditions will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Civic Players building, 1115 Erie Ave. in Logansport.

There are 12 primary characters ages 9 and over. There are 21 secondary characters, additional chorus and children’s choir.

The cast needs racial diversity.

CWU holding ladies’ luncheon in March

Church Women United will be having a luncheon at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7 in Main Street United Methodist Church.

The cost is $5, and all ladies are invited to attend.

Pioneer senior planning play

ROYAL CENTER — Emil Adsit, senior at Pioneer Junior-Senior High School, has put together a play as part of his senior project. The production will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the high school.

Donations will be accepted and proceeds will go toward Riley Hospital for Children.
