Cass Y holding ballet classes

The Cass County Family Y is holding Biddy Ballet classes beginning Feb. 21. 

This class is for children ages 3 to 5 years old and will be held on Saturday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. in the Cass County Family YMCA aerobics room.

Heart workshop set in Winamac

WINAMAC — Pulaski County Human Services Inc. is presenting a community workshop on “I Love My Healthy Heart” from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Von Tobel Center, 115 W. Pearl St. in Winamac, and from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Von Tobel Center, 125 S. Railroad St. in Medaryville.

Learn about good health education, diagnosis, prevention and treatment presented by Ronda Kletz, health education coordinator at Pulaski Memorial Hospital.

She will discuss understanding the symptoms and warning signs of heart disease and provide information on maintaining good health. Arrowhead Country Public Transit is available.

School holding book, art fair

WALTON — Thompson Elementary is conducting its 2009 Scholastic Book Fair from Tuesday through Feb. 20 in the school library.

The library will be open 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. each day for classrooms to make purchases.

An open house for the community will be hosted by the library from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. At that time, patrons will be able to make purchases of selected new books such as best sellers, chapter books and picture books.

Proceeds from the book fair will benefit Thompson students and the library.

The book fair will be held in conjunction with Tuesday night’s art show.

Space available for craft show

The Landis Elementary PTO is hosting its first spring craft show on April 4.

The fee for a 10-foot by 10-foot booth space is $20. The deadline to apply is March 30.

Checks can be made payable to the Landis PTO at Landis Elementary, 1 Landis Lane, Logansport IN 46947.

Government offices closed on Monday

Logansport and Cass County government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day.

All offices will be open for business as normal on Tuesday.
