PUBLIC FORUM: Letters from Tuesday, July 23, 2013

(Continued)

Brad Brown the owner of The Neighborhood allows Jessie Coffman and Cody Winner to host the “Peanut Butter Jam Sessions.” Donations are collected for peanut butter, peanut butter treats are available for purchase, and monetary donations are accepted. Ms. Coffman and Mr. Winner deserve many thanks for donating their time and talent to this cause.

Most of the peanut butter has been purchased locally at Aldi, D and R, Main Street Market and Martin’s Supermarkets. These stores and managers have been extremely helpful in getting the large quantities needed at a great sale price. We are grateful to them and we should be proud to have such businesses in our community.

Trinity Episcopal Church continues the peanut butter drive though out the year and the ultimate goal is to provide 18 ounce jars or larger at every school break. 300 jars are needed for fall break, 300 for Thanksgiving, 600 for Christmas break (two jars are provided), 300 for spring break, and 1200 for the end of the school year where four jars per student are needed. Hopefully this will assist families to feed their children during the breaks.

Trinity Episcopal is seeking your help in meeting this continuous need. Service organizations, individuals, businesses, corporations and churches are needed to work together as “Friends of the Backpack Program” to meet this on-going need.

If you would like to donate please make checks payable to Trinity Episcopal Church/Peanut Butter. Please make note that your donation is for peanut butter. It can be mailed or dropped off at Trinity Episcopal Church, 319 7th Street, Logansport, IN 46947. Donations of peanut butter will also be accepted. If you would like more information about this program, contact Missy Iles at 574-722-2365 or the church at 574-753-2733.

Trinity Episcopal Church will again host the School Supply Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10. Everything is free including the fun. It continues our commitment to our community’s children.
