LETTERS: ABATE ride, Hoosier Heartland

ABATE thanks sponsors after ride

The Seventh Annual ABATE of Region 4 Think Pink Ride would like to thank all the following businesses that donated to our ride. Even though this ride takes place in Lafayette, Cass County always steps up to the plate to help.

Our T-shirt sponsors were: Kesling Home Health Care, The Dutch Mill, East Point Muffler and Brake, Tube Fabrication, Something about Mary's, New Holland of Logansport, Jet Transport and the Anderson's in Walton.

Helping out with prizes were: Mike Anderson's Supercenter, Arnold's Jewelry and Gifts, Melski's Physical Graffiti, Logansport Golf Club, Walton Legion, The People's Winery, Arone Hardware, The Avenue, Pizza Hut, Family Video and Ernie Gasho.

I would especially like to thank Julia Manus, Jeff Lowe and Michelle Brown for their donations and help.

The money from this ride goes to the YWCA Cancer Program and helps pay for mammograms for women and men that cannot afford them. The programs covers many counties including Cass. They very much appreciate our help.

Lynn Brown, Lucerne

Cass Co. ABATE Rep and Ride Coordinator

Hoosier Heartland Assoc. celebrates completion

Our community came together for a special celebration when we marked the the completion of the final segment of the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Cooridor between Delphi and Logansport.

The HHIC Association has always been about working together as a team with our other communities from Fort Wayne to Lafayette and on Oct. 23 our community stepped up to carry our portion to complete this highway. A key point of our success was also the Major Moves legislation and Gov. Daniels' leadership. Without the money we would not be where we are today.

How does one say "thank you" to all who made this happen? It is impossible. Please realize you all put our community on the front page of our paper and showed our governor and all statewide guests that we can accomplish great things by working together.
