Walton UM church says thanks
The Walton UM Church would like to thank the following for making our 10th annual golf outing a success.
We would like to thank the golfers, the hole sponsors and those people who donated prizes. Aslo thanks to the guild for the great food and especially Terry and Janet Collins — owners of Little Mountain Golf Course— for all they do for the golf outing and for the church.
A special thanks to Ron Brunt for buying the "auctioned cake"! Special thanks go to area media for all the publicity we got. All this shows what small town living is all about, people supporting each other. Thank you.

Seniors appreciate Elks' help
A very big thank you to Elks Lodge 66 for supporting their local seniors! The Elks Lodge 66 provided $1,000 in funds to begin a “Sustainable Senior Gardening Program” for local seniors in our county. At the Downtown Senior Center, we have built four elevated, handicap-accessible garden boxes and planted them with fall crops. We were able to grow turnips, different kinds of lettuce, spinach, carrots, beets, tomato plants, and pepper plants. Because of the kind gift from the Elks Lodge 66, seniors will be able to eat nutritional food straight from the garden for years to come.
Another thank you goes out to The Acts Project and Thomas Henderson. This project is for all of the community to learn how to grow food in a sustainable manner. Other entities that have partnered with The Acts Project include the Logansport Community School Corp., Peak Community Services, the Emmaus Center, Ivy Tech, and other agencies not listed. The Downtown Senior Center is proud to be a part of this exciting effort to provide food solutions to our community.
Finally, our last thank you goes out to Rozzi’s Greenhouse for providing us with fall planting seed and directions on how to sow the seed correctly. Our garden is growing well and we look forward to the future of providing food for seniors to take home with them for free that will provide the nutrition that we require. Thank you to all of you.
