PUBLIC FORUM: Thanks for support at difficult time

— On Jan. 24, my husband, Scott Sellers, had a heart attack. During his care at St. Vincent’s, doctors discovered a rare tumor on his adrenal gland. The odds of having this are literally one in a million. The heart attack and damaged heart are a direct result of this tumor. The good news is that 90 percent of these tumors are benign and removal should improve his condition greatly.

A lot of you know Scott as that rocking guy who entertained you in different bands. He is also a loving father, husband and breadwinner for our family. Like a lot of people, we were unprepared financially for this. A young man close to our hearts realized this and set the ball rolling to hold a benefit. Calling on other musicians in the community he was able to hold this event on Feb. 23 at Shooters Bar only a month after this all began. Thank you Joe Damrell. You are forever in our hearts.

Many thanks to Matt Swisher, Chuck Kite, Code Winner, Andrea Lahmann and Chris and Kelly Kollmar for all the work you did. To everyone who donated a raffle time, thank you so much. To Jane Snay for popping up at th e last minute to raise money, I love you. To the bands that played, Scott’s old partner, Jason McKeever, Unintentional Deception, The Crop, The Mud Hippies and Bo Jackson 5, you all sounded great and we thank you.

To all the people who came out to show their support, his original brothers on stage, The Wize Guys, Joe and Chris, his current brothers, The Riddlers, Jim, Steiny, Scoob and their ladies, Laura and Tammy, and our honorary family member, Chad Bellanca who has been there for us over and over, we love you all and thank you. To all the people from Federal Mogul for supporting the benefit and for the phone calls and cards you’ve sent, thank you. To my coworkers and patrons at Amelios, your support is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Andy, Vickie and Sonny. I’m humbled at the affection and concern you’ve shown.

To our family members who have supported us, especially our children, Emily and Michael, we love you and you make us proud.

Scott is going to beat this thing and before you know it he’ll be back on stage, rocking.

Leann Sellers
