PUBLIC FORUM: Psi Otes thanks Pulaski residents

Pharos-Tribune

---- — Psi Otes thankPulaski residents

A big thank you to our community members for their flexibility for this year’s “Haps Chicken Bash.” Iota Xi, Winamac’s chapter of Psi Iota Xi wishes to express our sincere thanks to everyone who rescheduled their appetite for our fundraiser on Thursday, March 13. Thankfully, the winter weather didn’t dampen too many appetites!

Thanks to the generosity (and hunger!) of our Pulaski County residents, the “Psi Otes” are once again able to support one dozen children from kindergarten through second grade in speech/hearing summer programming this coming summer. Thank you for your ongoing generosity, Pulaski County!

Psi Iota Xi was originally founded in 1897 in Muncie, Indiana, and was the first Greek letter organization of its kind in the state. The purpose was for its members to find self-direction and personal growth while seeking to enrich the lives of others. Our mission is to further charitable enterprises; study the best art, literature, and music; develop ourselves socially, morally and intellectually; and ask for God’s help to advance in these fields of endeavor. The Winamac chapter was established in 1996.

Over the years, the sisters of Psi Iota Xi, or “Psi Otes” have become affectionately known as the Cheese Ball Ladies. That’s not a bad title when you understand the connection to our mission – the delicious holiday fare is one of the many ways we are able to raise the funds needed to further our mission and fund programs such as speech and hearing therapy at our local schools. Crackers anyone?
