PUBLIC FORUM: From two-way to gun control to immigrants

First, have American and Logansport citizens completely lost all sense of reason?

If Broadway and Market streets are made two-way, what will this benefit? Vehicles making wide right-hand turns, especially big trucks, will be looking right into oncoming traffic about half-way through their turn. Besides being a head-on collision waiting to happen, traffic traveling east to west and south to north will both be stacked up waiting for somebody to give in and back up (if they can get all the backed-up traffic to back up.)

I suspect there is a percentage in this town who don’t even know they have a reverse or how to use it. Those that make these decisions need to realize that changing the traffic patterns of these streets will affect everybody who uses these streets, while possibly helping a couple of the downtown merchants. Don’t worry about all the parking spaces that will be lost. There won’t be anybody that wants to go down these streets. The parking spaces left will have to be long to accommodate the semis stopping to ask directions how to avoid this ridiculous traffic pattern.

Secondly, is there any evidence that any guns or extended magazines have, without someone’s help, killed anybody? None of the children killed in the recent shootings were killed by a gun all by itself. The killings were committed by deranged humans using guns as tools of death. But the gun was no more responsible than the knife (knives) used in the multiple-person stabbings just now being reported on TV at a Texas college. Are we going to institute background checks for knife buyers? If Obama and all of his cult members had their way, the only utensils you would be able to use would be sporks made with the consistency of a rubber band. So long, Taco Bell.

Another thing to consider is that many under 21s have been killed already this year in Cass and the surrounding counties in automobile accidents where it was a teen driving. Maybe we need background checks or outlaw cars until a driver is over 21, fingerprinted and put on a national registry. Sound stupid. Not to those like Obama and the liberals who want to control every second of your life.

Thirdly, there are those who want to give amnesty to 11 million illegals while America’s true unemployment is north of 15 percent. Sure makes sense to me — not.
