— Thanks for support of annual fundraiser
The residents and staff at Miller’s Merry Manor would like to thank all of those who attended and supported the annual fish and chicken fry on Aug. 3. The event was a huge success, and it would not have been possible without the support of those in the Logansport community and our business partners. The annual event has grown from year to year and provides us with a great opportunity to give back to the community we are so proud to serve.
All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Logansport Senior Center. We are proud to be a part of the Logansport community and sincerely thank all who were involved for their support.

Why not develop theater at mall?
I believe the owners of the mall need to be contacted and made aware that an investor wants to build a theater near Walmart. Since most businesses have left the mall, maybe the mall owners would be willing to work a deal with the theater investors. I would say that if the theater would use the existing building or rebuild in the same location as the mall then they could be offered a tax break.
That way, if things don't work out for the theater, it won't be another empty building that the town doesn't need. They would have enough space for the building and more than enough parking. And I’m sure the people in the area of High Street Road and Yorktown Road would appreciate less trash and noise.

Historic theater deserves support
I’ve been going to the State Theater quite a bit when I was a kid, and I've seen a lot of movies there! Now that the theater is under new ownership and getting some improvements done to it to make it a first-class theater and how the building is so historic, I’d say we need to do as much as we can to save the State Theater!
