In their own words

by Melissa Soria
Pharos-Tribune staff writer

Editor’s note: Pharos-Tribune lifestyle writer Melissa Soria poses a question to a group of youngsters each week to get their take on a topic. We hope you enjoy their responses as much as we do. We polled children in Vicki Austen’s first-grade class at Franklin Elementary School and asked the following question:

If you could trade places one day with someone, who would it be?

An artist. The kind that makes children’s books. I’d then give them to schools so children can read them.

- Martha Sanchez

Trinidy, my best friend. Because she’s nice.

-Destiny Austin

A tree.

-Tyler Shank

My baby cousin because he gets a lot of attention. I wish it could be me. ... And he’s cute.

-Trinidy Hinshaw

My mommy because it’s really fun being a mom. I could watch the children, and I could take my sisters shopping.

-Kelsi Powell
