In their own words

by Melissa Soria
Pharos-Tribune staff writer

Editor’s note: Pharos-Tribune lifestyle writer Melissa Soria poses a question to a group of youngsters each week to get their take on a topic. We hope you enjoy their responses as much as we do. We polled children in Peggy Scott’s first-grade class at Landis Elementary School in Logansport and asked the following question:

What is your favorite thing about school?

Homework and the birthdays. My birthday is May 11.

-Sadee Scaggs

Recess because you get to run around everywhere and you can yell and play.

-Christopher Moore

I like the lunch that we have. I like chicken and I like milk.

-Riana Torres

Learning how to count to 200 and learning manners — how to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’

-James Lee

Learning about stuff.

-Natalie Farris

Reading. You can get smart by reading.

-Richard Bookwalter
