In their own words

by Melissa Soria
Pharos-Tribune staff writer

Editor’s note: Pharos-Tribune lifestyle writer Melissa Soria poses a question to a group of youngsters each week to get their take on a topic. We hope you enjoy their responses as much as we do. We polled children in Kathy Bahnaman’s kindergarten class at Columbia Elementary School in Logansport and asked the following question:

Why does it rain so much in the springtime?

Because there are rainy clouds.

-Elizabeth Wells

So people can run around and jump in rain puddles.

-Wesley Grandstaff

To help the flowers grow because water helps them grow.

-Kaitlyn Steele

Because God cries.

-Joey Humphrey

It helps put fires out.

-Daren Wynn

I have no idea. That’s a hard one. Maybe there’s a lot more clouds than usual.

-Nellie Walthery

Because people don’t want to ride their bikes.

-Madelyn Bookwalter
