Fisher recognized as fellowship recipient

Bobbi Fisher, eighth grade history teacher at Lincoln Middle School, was chosen from a pool of 200 applicants as the Indiana representative to the 2009 Horace Mann/Abraham Lincoln Fellowship Summer Institute.

Only one educator from each state is selected to attend the 2009 Horace Mann/Abraham Lincoln Fellowship Summer Week-long Institute. The institute takes place in Springfield, Ill., at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

Recipients of the fellowship receive an all-expenses paid educational opportunity, spending a week intensively studying the 16th President with unlimited access to artifacts and primary sources about Lincoln.

This year’s topic is “Teaching History: The Life and Times of Abraham Lincoln.” To be selected Fisher had to apply for the fellowship and answer two essay questions.
