Pioneer academic super bowl team competes in Lafayette

The top performance was turned in by the Mathematics squad. Justin Hughes, Nathan Kistler, Aaron Marshall, Melanie Shrontz, and Nathanael Stevenson scored 20 out of 25 and captured first place among the Class 4 schools. Their score was among the top 5 among more than 20 schools competing and was within 1 point of perennial powerhouse West Lafayette.

Also, the Science Squad with Billy Cotner, Kistler, Shrontz, and Stevenson placed second and the interdisciplinary squad with Bryanna Bowman, Jessica Galbreath, Hughes, Kistler, Marshall, Shrontz and Stevenson placed third.

Also competing for Pioneer were Kaley Bean, Clayton Harvey and Sasha Robinson. The team was coached by Melissa Brown, Becky Groff, Barrie McClain and John Pokorney.

Pioneer will receive a certificate to honor this achievement.
